Year in Review: Tax Law
The United Kingdom left the European Union with a withdrawal agreement in 2020. Norway is not a member to the EU and not a party to the withdrawal agreement, however Norway and the other EFTA states concluded a separate agreement with the UK which included a transition period under which the UK was treated as if it were a member of the EU and the EEA for tax purposes. Now that we have entered 2021 this agreement has expired and below is a reminder of three important Norwegian tax aspects of Brexit in this way having taken effect.
