Fjeld has experience from both sides of the judge’s bench. She has more than ten years of experience as a lawyer at Gjensidige Forsikring and at Deloitte. In Gjensidige Forsikring she handled a large number of insurance disputes before the courts, including liability insurance claims, recourse claims, professional liability claims and also board members liability disputes
At Deloitte, Fjeld headed up the department of tax and VAT litigation. She was lead lawyer in a large number of tax and VAT cases before the courts in both national and international tax law. Cases included group contribution cases, interest deduction limitation disputes and various situations where the Norwegian tax authorities disregard the contractual terms set up by the taxpayer , cases regarding allocation of profits, as well as cases regarding the taxability of offshore activities and the taxability of international personnel located offshore Norway.
Fjeld has wide experience from litigation before the district courts, the courts of appeals, the Supreme Court of Norway and the supranational EFTA Court. She was admitted to the Supreme Court in 2019 and has litigated both insurance law cases and tax law/tax treaty cases before this court.
Fjeld has also served as judge for 6 years. She has been appointed acting judge in Borgarting Court of Appeal and deputy judge in Oslo District Court. She has significant experience in leading main hearings and hearings of appeal, giving judgments and mediate cases as judicial mediator. She is now appointed as external judicial mediator to Borgarting Court of Appeal and the district courts in its jurisdiction.
