Nina Sørensen assists both private and public clients within public procurement, construction law and contract law.
Nina has for over 10 years assisted both private and public clients in several areas, primarily public procurement, construction law and contract law.
Nina has in-depth knowledge of public procurement regulations, e.g. through specialized courses in EU and EEA Public Procurement law at the University of Bergen. She also has significant practical experience in carrying out procurement procedures. Prior to her practice as a lawyer, Nina worked as a legal advisor in the development of the Bergen light rail system, where she handled legal aspects of a complex infrastructure project. With her professional expertise and practical experience, she shows through her counselling and understanding of the challenges that often arise in the procurement processes, both for the byer and the supplier/tenderer.
Nina is also hosting the podcast Anskaffelsespodden (in Norwegian), where relevant procurement law issues are highlighted and discussed. Nina’s ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear and understandable way makes her a highly competent advisor and speaker.
In addition to her expertise within public procurement, Nina has extensive experience in construction law and handling of contracts in the field of construction law. She assists through the negotiation process and execution of complex construction contracts, and also advises in disputes that may arise between the client/buyer, contractor, consultants, etc. Nina’s experience with the interface between public procurement and construction law, and her understanding of the connection between the different sets of rules, makes her particularly qualified to handle legal challenges that arise in projects involving both public procurement and building/construction work.
Nina also assists clients withing general contract law, including negotiation and review of agreements, follow-up during the contract period, risk management and handling of any disputes afterwards. With her in-depth understanding and knowledge of the legal, commercial and strategic aspects of various contracts, she advises clients in an efficient manner so that their interests are ensured.
