Torgeir Willumsen is a maritime lawyer with extensive international experience from both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Torgeir is the head of our Singapore office and handles a wide range of matters within the shipping and offshore sector. He is a dual-qualified lawyer (Norway and England & Wales), and has extensive international experience from several jurisdictions.
Torgeir specializes in sale/purchase, lease and financing of vessels, shipbuilding/offshore construction as well as marine/energy insurance, casualty work and dispute resolution. He also advises on commercial matters such as business structures, shareholders’ agreements and joint venture agreements.
Torgeir has practised in Asia since 2009, first in Japan and thereafter in Singapore, and has over the years developed a deep understanding of Asian legal and commercial issues. He regularly assists Norwegian companies with establishing businesses in Asia, various contract negotiations, as well as general commercial questions related to Asia.
Torgeir assists Asian companies with legal issues related to Norway. He heads up the firm’s China Desk and regularly works with Chinese companies in this respect.
