Sustainable Development Goals
Simonsen Vogt Wiig supports UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Fighting inequality and climate changes doesn’t happen by accident. In order to contribute reaching UN’s sustainable development goals, we in Simonsen Vogt Wiig have made sustainability and corporate social responsibility one of our main strategic priorities.
We have had an internal process to identify which of the 17 goals we will have a particular focus on in our organization. In 2021 we have established project groups that will focus on finding specific measures for each of our chosen goals.
SVW believes that the best advice will come from a team with a diverse background and composition. We therefore focus on attracting, developing, and retaining profiles of different backgrounds and experiences, with balance between genders.
We strive for our employees to have a flexible workday and be able to have a good work life balance on all levels.
SVW was certified Eco-Lighthouse in 2009. This means that we have met certain requirements regarding environmentally friendly operations and a good working environment. Eco-Lighthouse is Norway’s most widely used certification scheme for enterprises seeking to document their environmental efforts and demonstrate social responsibility.
SVW is climate neutral and compensate for our emission through the purchase of climate quotas. Via CEMAsys.com we support among others a project in Ghana, focusing on clean-burning and energy efficient kitchen stoves. The project results in health and economy gains, as well as being positive for the climate.
SVW want to contribute to stopping climate changes through specific guidelines, raising consciousness within the organization as to what we as individuals may contribute with as well as general reminders of our common responsibility.
In addition to purchasing climate quotas, we take local measures at our offices in the shape of giving access to bicycles, facilitating for usage of public transport and virtual meetings, and avoiding unnecessary journeys.
SVW wish to contribute to a sustainable development both locally, nationally, and internationally. With law as our core competence it is natural for us to make use of this experience for influencing and contributing with reaching the superior objectives.
We focus on money laundering and encourage our employees to actively participate in committees and organizations. Many of our lawyers offer their expertise to individuals and organizations on a pro bono basis.
SVW is a steady supporter to Amnesty International.
