Moreover, Thomas Olsen is the first individual winner in the category data protection. Data protection is a new category in this year’s survey, and Associated Partner in Simonsen Vogt Wiig, Thomas Olsen, is the first winner.
Thomas holds a PhD in data protection law from the Norwegian Research Centre for Computers and Law, University of Oslo, and has a long-standing experience on the topic, both in the public and private sector. He has worked with Simonsen Vogt Wiig since 2011 and has contributed to establishing our data protection practice, which today consists of around 20 lawyers.
– This was gratifying news, says Thomas. We have had a strong focus on this topic and have addressed various business sectors, so it is nice to obtain recognition for our efforts in the sector. This is a constantly increasing discipline, and due to GDPR we see an increasing demand from our clients with regard to data protection issues.
– Thomas really deserved to win this category. He has an impressive data protection CV, and he is a rock-solid person with integrity and professional strength. He is always working hard to be the best on his segment, says Managing Partner Mona Søyland to Finansavisen.
