Bjørn-Erik has more than 35 years of experience in private practice and as a senior civil servant with a special focus on the oil and gas sector, infrastructure and the restructuring of public service functions.
He regularly advises private- and public enterprises, national- and international interest organizations, Norwegian central- and regional administrations and the authorities of foreign countries on contract law, petroleum- and energy law, administrative law and public international law.
Bjørn-Erik has particular experience in guiding newly established players on the Norwegian continental shelf, legal aspects arising out of developing, financing and operating complex cross-border projects such as unitization and subsea pipelines, and associated transactions.
He also has significant experience in developing and enforcing legislation and related petroleum legal frameworks and bilateral intergovernmental agreements, as well as advising on legal issues at the intersection between coastal- and flag state regimes.
