Lill Egeland heads the employment division in Oslo focusing on international clients.
With a history that began at PwC her international clientele continues to dominate her work at SVW, with over half of her assignments for global businesses. Regularly, she travels Europe, and she’s had stints in New York: as a trainee at US law firm Holland & Knight and a corruption investigator for the UN.
Lill has extensive experience in reorganisation and redundancy and individual termination cases, from individual terminations to overseeing entire processes. Her expertise covers all stages of termination, including situations related to employee health. Additionally, she provides guidance on work time compliance, encompassing flexible contracts, leading roles, and dealings with the Working Inspection Authority. Her extensive experience covers contractors, temporary staff, expats, and employees from agencies. She is also a leading expert on the handling of whistleblowing cases.
A significant portion of her work involves international employment law, guiding businesses on secondments and ensuring legal compliance. This also includes assisting in transfers of businesses, mergers, and TUPE issues. Her advisories extend to the best practices for structuring business transfers and communication strategies.
Lill frequently lectures on employment law at institutions and client seminars. She’s involved academically with UiO and UiB, and has editorial roles, including a published book on sexual harassment law. Recognized by Legal 500 and Chambers, Lill stands among Norway’s elite employment lawyers.
