Malin Tønseth has more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience.
Malin is an experienced compliance lawyer with profound expertise in IT-law, data protection and digitalization issues. She has experience from leading law-firms and international industries (in-house legal counsel). She worked four years in Hydro heading the organization’s global-wide privacy compliance strategy and network and has also served several years at the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Malin is associated with Simonsen Vogt Wiig’s TMT-department and is head of the Compliance & Risk team. She specializes in data protection and cyber security compliance, and has profound expertise in investigations and crisis management. She also assists companies with compliance and risk management relating to corporate governance including in areas of anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, corporate investigations, governmental interactions, corporate criminal liability and ESG/sustainability as well as requirements under the Norwegian Transparency Act. Malin provides practical and hands-on advice and is often engaged by companies, investors, and financial institutions in connection with compliance assessments, due diligence and audits on business partners, and with issues arising from mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
