We assist companies and creditors with distressed situations, both in Norway and in other jurisdictions. We are particularly experienced with assisting banks and syndicates with defaulted loans, including with negotiating and completion of restructurings, securing creditor interest, debt recovery, enforcement of security and takeover of companies and assets.

Our lawyers are experienced with operations, resale and termination after such takeover and are also appointed as board members in companies which are controlled by the creditors.

Simonsen Vogt Wiig continuously handles a considerable number of bankruptcy estates and our bankruptcy lawyers are regularly appointed as trustees for major and complex bankruptcies. We additionally have considerable experience in directors’ liability cases.
